I've always wondered why the Rice Krispy treats that come out of our kitchen are so squatty. Everyone else's are tall and full of crunchy, sticky goodness. Ours are always about half as thick and I could never figure out why. It all became clear last night.
I walked in the living room and witnessed this. . .
I never knew that they must taste better directly out of the pot! And the more you eat, the better they taste!
They must also taste better if you share! (Please don't be afraid to eat at our house. . .the dishwasher is set to sterilize!)
The evidence of half a recipe – down the hatch – all over Ali's face! Gotta love a good treat, especially if it's shared!

Looks like Ali's stoned on Krispie treats...LOL. I'm never afraid to eat at your house, unless you are cooking from that Dutch cookbook you shared awhile back..LOL Pretzel soup anyone? Flat Rice Krispie treats sound much better!

you being the big time cookbook lover and cook, i was wondering if...you have a bread machine or if you just bake bread in the oven. you seem to appriciate the way things were done in the older days. just curious!!!
I do both. Mostly I bake in the oven but I also use the machine to mix and knead then put the dough in the oven to bake. I don't like the hole in the bottom of the loaf that the paddle in the machine leaves.
